Position Description

The Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering (CCEE) seeks qualified applicants for an Advising Center Coordinator (Academic Adviser III) who will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the CCEE undergraduate student services program and its personnel. Major duties and responsibilities of the position include advising students in the civil engineering, construction engineering, and environmental engineering programs and conducting related activities such as recruiting new students and teaching orientation courses, coordinating and participating in departmental recruitment and retention initiatives, and serving as co-coordinator for the department’s learning communities. The successful candidate will have effective management and organizational skills, the ability to work well with a diverse population, and the ability to communicate effectively. Duties

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a discipline related to advising, engineering or a math/science field
• Experience supervising and leading professional employees
• Experience that demonstrates an understanding of higher education and the academic, social, and personal challenges that students face
• Five years of experience in advising, undergraduate or graduate teaching, or student affairs
• Knowledge of and experience in engineering undergraduate curriculum matters
