The Director of Student Academic Success Office is responsible for designing, implementing, evaluating and improving innovative, integrated and comprehensive student success models, with an emphasis on advising and supporting students who are exploratory, academically high-risk, athletes, and those on academic probation. The Director is charged with integration, coordination and fostering of outcomes-driven efforts in academic support for student success (e.g., retention, persistence and graduation).
Provide leadership and strategic vision for the advising and student success efforts of the Student Academic Success Office (SASO), including supervising the Coordinator of Exploratory Advising and Academic Planning, Senior Advisor for Student Athletes and Transfer Students, and four Professional Advisors. Provide individualized and group advising to students. Build effective partnerships with faculty, academic departments and other university offices to develop and provide guidance for the overall structure of broad-based academic support and intervention efforts (e.g., student progress reports and early alerts) strategies, tools, procedures, and policies. Collaborate with the Center for Advancement of Teaching and Faculty Development (CAT+FD) to develop in-service training for the advising community. Serve as a key member on university committee’s (e.g., Students of Concern, Academic Standing, and Readmissions). Maintain constant evaluation of student success efforts, including collecting and analyzing data, assessing satisfaction, and making appropriate changes and improvements in a data-driven way to ensure alignment with the University’s mission. Participate in national conversations on advising and student success through conference attendance and local, regional, and national networks. Perform related duties as assigned by the Assistant Provost for Student Success.

Master’s degree in higher in Education, Counseling, Guidance, Social Work, Student Personnel, higher education or a related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum of three years of administrative experience in Student Services. Budget management and experience supervising and evaluating professional staff.
Ph.D. in Education, Counseling, Guidance, Social Work, or related field with a focus on academic advising, student personnel services and/or career counseling from an accredited college or university. Five years of administrative experience in academic support, tutoring, and/r Supplemental Instruction Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment Excellent oral, written communication skills, and organizational skills. Working knowledge of Banner, EAB Navigate, and Degree Works
