Position Description
The Department of Physics, Geology & Engineering seeks applications for a Non-Tenure Track Renewable Lecturer /Academic Advisor beginning Fall 2021.
Duties
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations is required. In addition to advising, the individual hired will teach typically 1-2 courses per semester during the academic year, depending on advising loads. In addition, participation in orientation and recruiting events, advising luncheons, and Master Advisor training is required. This is an academic year appointment with some summer orientation duties covered by a separate stipend.

The department offers baccalaureate degrees in Physics, Engineering Physics, Geology, and three specialties in Engineering Technology as well as pre-engineering transfer programs. Required Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in any of the disciplines related to the department programs (Physics, Astronomy, Geology or Engineering Technology) is required; some teaching experience at the college level is required. Applicants must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations is required
Preferred Qualifications
Prior advising experience is preferred; Familiarity with SAP (NKU’s information system) and/or EAB-Student Success Collaborative is desirable.
