Position Description

The Senior Associate Director is a key member of the ASC leadership team, assisting the Director in office operations, organization, management, and strategic vision. The Senior Associate Director coordinates the case-management model for first-year freshmen and transfer students and supervises the Assistant Directors for Student Outreach and Academic Initiatives. The Senior Associate Director also oversees the coordination and implementation of coaching throughout the Division of Student Success. The Senior Associate Director also provides oversight of data collection and assessment, to inform and improve services within the ASC.


Leadership, Supervision, and Operations
Responsibilities include leadership, management and communication of ASC operations. This position will directly supervise two Assistant Directors who oversee the academic coaching staff. This position serves as a leading voice in the ASC’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion through training and professional development. Management and Oversight of Academic Coaching Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the academic coaching model within the ASC and across the Division of Student Success. Within the ASC, this includes hiring, training, assessing coaching and the case-management model. Oversight of Data Assessment and Program Evaluation The position coordinates evaluation and assessment within the ASC: creating, maintaining, and protecting large-scale data sets and databases; analysis of these data will include descriptive statistics and analysis of variance and group differences. In addition, the position is responsible for all elements of evaluation and assessment of ASC programs and initiatives, including survey research, qualitative research such as focus groups and interviews, and program planning and management based on assessment feedback. Additional assessment responsibilities include working with key divisional and campus partners on external assessments; reporting assessment findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications


• a Master’s degree
• at least 5 years of full-time higher education professional (exempt) experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• experience in delivering academic resources and skill development to students
• experience in assessment, including qualitative and quantitative research, reporting, and data management
• experience in outreach and communications, including website management and reporting
• experience in supervising full-time staff
• experience in helping students through periods of transition and adjustment
• demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
• experience in use, implementation, and training of software and platforms such as Canvas, Banner, and EAB/Navigate.
