Position Description

Primary Role for the Senior Academic Adviser at UC Clermont will provide intrusive advising, outreach, and programming for regional campus (UC Clermont) students regarding their intent and opportunities to transition to UC Clifton campus baccalaureate programs. The role includes coordination of programming and student communications for potential transition students. The position will partner with key offices at the regional campuses and Clifton, including college representatives and key faculty and staff on both campuses. The position reports to both the Office of Advising and Academic Services and the Director of Advising at Clermont College, with the majority of duties carried out on the Clermont Campus.


  • Ensure that regional campus students who wish to pursue a baccalaureate degree or any other academic program offered at another UC College are identified and receive routine communications as well as transition-oriented advising outreach and support
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of UC baccalaureate college admission requirements and curricula in addition to regional campus curricula and requirements
  • Serve as an integral part of the regional campus advising team Serve as an advising liaison between Clermont College and Clifton Campus, collaborating with both regional and Clifton campus employees
  • Facilitate regional campus advisors’ understanding of baccalaureate college opportunities and criteria
  • Meet monthly with the Center for Pathways Advising and Student Success staff for status updates, planning, and coordination
  • Organize regional campus visits from representatives from various Clifton Campus programs and encourage students to go to the Clifton Campus and UC Blue Ash for information sessions
  • Assist with Clermont College Open House, new student orientation and other events as needed
  • Generate queries and reporting for student outreach in collaboration with the regional campus Institutional Research office
  • Generate regular communications to all students in pre/transition programs and advise a caseload of students in these programs and special circumstance students as needed
  • Participate in both regional campus and university-wide advisor training and development
  • Serve as a student advocate for Clifton Campus advisors with “special” curriculum concerns for transition students Introduce regional campus students to Clifton Campus organizations or resources
  • Collaborate with Clifton campus advising programs/centers that support student pathways, exploration and opportunities for study
  • Plan and facilitate transition programming, including development of a UC Transition Fair at Clermont
  • Collaborate with UCBA transition advisor and Clifton Campus admissions team to coordinate scholarship selection and process

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of experience; -OR- Associate degree with five (5) years of experience; -OR- seven (7) years of experience. Experience must be in advising students at the high school and/or college level or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with transfer populations is ideal.
