Position Description

The Office of Student Success is seeking applicants for a Student Success Technology Administrator. This position is responsible for leading the integration of technology tools to support excellence in academic advising and other student success initiatives. The person in this position will develop and coordinate a network of technology users (campaign working group, trainers, application administrators, referral network contacts, points of contact in various units, etc.). This role is designed to manage technology implementation, adoption, training, end-user experience, and collect/share data insights with diverse stakeholders. Project management and collaboration skills are more important than technical skills, but the successful candidate will be conversant in how the technology works and be able to translate functional area needs to vendors and technical support team members and teach end-users to use technology effectively. This role demands vision and initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively across functional areas at the university. This position reports to the Vice Provost for Student Success.

Duties

Coordination and Leadership
In collaboration, create priorities and models for broad adoption of student success technologies.
Examples include:
Early alert functionality and progress reports in SSC-Navigate
Student-facing online appointment scheduling through SSC-Navigate
Academic planning tools Student-facing mobile application
Partner with Student Life, Enrollment Management, and other Provost Office units as well as colleges and campuses to broaden student success care networks
Serve on SSC-Navigate/Smart Guidance Strategic Project Team
Convene and lead a User Group with diverse representation to assist with data validation and advise on product expansion ideas
Recommend and develop strategies to leverage technology to improve faculty/staff workflow, enhance the student experience, and promote student success
Liaison with Information Technology on data integrations
Partner with Institutional Research to leverage data from Power BI and survey data from Qualtrics to support Student Success initiatives
Collaborate with Registrar’s Office on aligning Academic Planning (Smart Guidance) and the Degree Audit (DARS) SSC-Navigate/Smart Guidance Management
Become an expert on SSC-Navigate/Smart Guidance platform capabilities
Learn the functionality of existing and prospective student success technology tools
Support day-to-day functionality of student success technologies
Troubleshoot technology challenges and elevate concerns, as needed Collaborate with IT partners to maintain data integrity and quality
Develop and test new tools and expanded functionality of existing tools
Streamline end-user access to the platform, ensuring data security and FERPA compliance
Lead creation of comprehensive role and data permission strategy for student success technologies across campus
Gather data insights, generate reports, and evaluate technology effectiveness
Convey product enhancement needs to vendors Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling vendor/partner meetings and visits
Serve as Chief Applications Administrator Communication and Training
Provide leadership for the implementation and training of student success technologies
Communicate and train end-users on new functionality and improved processes
Prepare procedural and training documents, videos, and website resources to support faculty, staff, and students Design a train-the-trainer model to support adoption and responsible use of technologies
Collaborate with partners to provide routine efficient, accurate training as well as ad hoc “on-demand” training Coordinate technology expansion consultations with prospective end-user units
Monitor vendor updates and serve as liaison among product representatives, SSC-Navigate/Smart Guidance Strategic Project Team, and end-users

Additional Information

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $49,500 - $64,330 annually

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
One year of relevant experience
Other Requirements: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree with evidence of ongoing learning beyond a Master's degree (certificates, active engagement with professional development post-Master's coursework)
Five or more years experience in higher education student services
Demonstrated skills managing projects including complex technology-related projects
Knowledge of data security fundamentals and data interpretation skills
Evidence of strong communication (written and oral), facilitation, and collaboration skills
A demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
Experience with PeopleSoft, Student Success Collaborative-Navigate, and Target X CRM desirable; data visualization skills; knowledge of K-State; prior experience as an academic advisor.
