Position Description

The University of Arkansas seeks applications for the position of Student Development Specialist (R0051340).

Duties

The Student Development Specialist will oversee the initial advising of all preadmissions in undergraduate and graduate programs for the College of Business, Health, and Human Services (CBHHS) and will be responsible for other administrative duties in CBHHS. This position is governed by state & federal laws & institutional policy. CBHHS encompasses five schools providing academic programs including minors, certificates, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Located alongside the Arkansas River, Little Rock, with its population exceeding 200,000, is renowned for its vibrant arts and cultural scene, diverse entertainment options, restaurants, breweries, and convenient proximity to a wide range of outdoor activities.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in education, academic advising, or related field OR a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two years of experience in a job-related field may be substituted for the degree requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education settings and experience with complex database systems, specifically Boss, Banner, and DegreeWorks.
