Position Description

Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Curriculum System Analyst. The position reports to the Executive Director of Registration and Advising Services, and works closely with the Registrar, Admissions, Curriculum Committee, Academic Departments, Office of the Provost, Academic Advising Council, Information Technology Services, and Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning teams, and is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of academic records and curriculum management within the institution. This role involves a combination of administrative, analytical, and compliance-related tasks, ensuring that the college adheres to internal policies and external regulatory requirements related to curriculum and academic records. This is an on-campus position with the possibility of hybrid and remote work arrangements.

Duties

The Curriculum System Analyst at Western Colorado University is responsible for adding and maintaining curriculum in the Workday Student Information System and the annual catalog. This role involves managing the configuration and testing of academic programs (new and historical), overseeing business process configurations, building dashboards, and writing reports related to academic records. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with many departments to address integration and data conversion needs, ensuring seamless functionality across systems. Key responsibilities include developing advanced eligibility rules and conditional logic in reports and curricula to ensure precise application of degree audits and business processes, while maintaining data integrity. Identify and recommend process improvements and optimizations for technical stability. Provide operational and strategic recommendations and lead implementation efforts.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with three years of experience in higher education, curriculum management, IT services, and/or applicable project management. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively, both simultaneous and in parallel.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree or advanced credentials, experience with training and communicating within diverse populations, and expertise in Workday Student, Excel, Banner, Ellucian and/or Slate with working knowledge in creating complex dashboards and report writing.
