NACADA Program Reviews help higher education institutions take a deep, comprehensive look at their academic advising programs by reviewing academic advising at the system-wide, college or university, or the unit level. This audit could offer recommendations ranging from establishing, developing, or reorganizing advising services and programs to providing an in-depth assessment of advising services as part of accreditation visits or major campus initiatives, depending on the needs of your institution.

During the review, our scholar-practitioners will engage with academic administrators, faculty, advising professionals, and campus partners, discussing your academic advising program and gathering relevant data to enhance and strengthen advising practices. The review can be done in-person or virtually and is designed specifically to accomplish your intentional goals, objectives, and outcomes. 

What to Expect from a Program Review:

• Your institution liaison will be connected with selected NACADA Consultants to discuss the purpose, goals, and intended outcomes of the visit. Together they will discuss the details and preparations for the program review.
• Whether in-person or virtual, prior to the review, consultants will request documents, materials, policies, and procedure to inform the review and will work with the institution liaison to create an agenda for the visit.
• During the review, consultants will interview key advising leaders and professionals to discuss the existing academic advising program and analyze its strengths and areas of improvement to provide a consistent and effective advising experience for all students across the institution and/or system.
• The consultants will prepare an in-depth institutional report framed around The Nine Conditions of Excellence that will address the institution’s academic advising strengths and challenges and provide actionable recommendations for your institution to implement.
