Administrators' Institute Advisory Board

Mission: Advise the Executive Office on strategies and activities for providing services to members and for organizational operations. The work of advisory boards is coordinated by the Executive Office. Advisory Boards meet during the National Conference each year or virtually via a video conference platform. Advisory Boards review and recommend changes to the Executive Office in format and content of activities in support of the Advisory Board’s charge. They are part of the Administrative Division for communication purposes.

Function: The Advisory Board will advise the Executive Office on strategies and activities for providing services to members and for organizational operations specifically related to the Administrators’ Institute and the Advising Seminar.

The Administrators’ Institute will offer high quality professional development opportunities that will maintain NACADA’s status as experts in the field of Advising Administration. This Institute has served administrators, advisors and faculty advisors establishing a reputation for excellence within the global community fulfilling the vision of NACADA to be the leader for the theory, delivery, application and advancement of academic advising to enhance student development.

The Winter Seminar will offer high quality professional development opportunities that will maintain NACADA’s status as experts in the field of Advising. In the past, the Seminar has served administrators, advisors and faculty advisors establishing a reputation for excellence within the global community fulfilling the vision of NACADA to be the leader for the theory, delivery, application and advancement of academic advising to enhance student development.

Advisory Board Chair

The Chair of the Advisory Board facilitates the work of the group by:

  • Working with the Executive Office staff on issues that need attention or discussion.
  • Facilitating Advisory Board discussion on issues via email and/or conference calls.
  • Facilitating Advisory Board meetings during the Annual Conference.
  • Working with the Executive Office and the President on appointment of new members each year.
  • Providing written reports to the Board of Directors at least twice annually.
