Purpose:
Mentoring is an important aspect of one’s professional development. The NACADA Graduate and Professional Advisors Mentoring Program allows for new to graduate and professional advising professionals to be paired with an experienced advisor within this specialized field providing a greater network and collaboration among members.
Mentor and mentee pairs will be required to meet virtually one week prior to the NACADA Annual Conference for a free orientation workshop. During the virtual workshop, participants will review the benefits of a mentoring program and create expectations for one another. Mentoring pairs will develop an action plan that they will use throughout the year of their mentoring experience. An opportunity for an organized outing for mentors/mentees at the NACADA Annual Conference.

2023 Application Info
General Requirements for Mentee:
- Membership Status: NACADA Member at the time of the application and throughout the year of the program
- Must be able to attend a virtual mentoring workshop on September 27, 2023
- Attendance at the 2023 NACADA Annual Conference is encouraged but not required
- This is a one-year commitment
General Requirements for Mentee:
- Have less than 2 years of advising graduate and professional students specifically (can have other years of advising, but must have less than 2 years with this population)
General Requirements for Mentor:
- Must have work experience advising graduate and/or professional students specifically for more than 2 years (can have other years of advising, but must have less than 2 years with this population)
