Oversees the delivery of and acts as an academic advisor to undergraduate students at Westminster College, including direct supervision of staff advisors.
Provide individualized and group advising to students assigned to them and on an ad hoc basis. This includes assessing individual situations and circumstances, many complex in nature, and creating, implementing and monitoring recommendations, partnering with internal/external organizations and resources that meet student needs. Participate in local and national conversations on advising, retention, and student success through conference attendance and local, regional, and national networks. Serve as team lead for advising Supervise staff advisors/assistant directors in the Student Success and Retention area. Coordinate training and provide support for faculty and staff advisors. Collaborate with faculty, academic departments, and other university offices to to ensure consistent, responsive and timely delivery of high quality and coordinated services to all constituencies. Coordinate the move to a case management software system, should such software be acquired, growing staff and faculty “buy in” and participation and working closely with departments, such as Information Services, Registrar, and Institutional Research to implement and assess this work. Plan and implement improvements to functional operations to better meet organizational needs & objectives. Promote an Inclusive Westminster through demonstration of the commitments included in the Westminster College Diversity Statement. Participate in developmental activities to increase understanding and awareness of issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion both individually and as related to my field of work, profession or discipline.
