Position Description

What We Are Looking For This Academic Advisor will support the students in the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences at Baylor University. The Academic Advisor will assist in the effort of recruitment and retention and will assist the student through initial contact, application, acceptance, advising about program of study, attendance and graduation, and will work with the office staff to coordinate services for students regarding registration. Additionally, the advisor will participate in campus student recruitment efforts. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Duties

What You Will Do

  • Assist students in developing education plans, selecting courses and evaluating student academic progress and document advising contacts.
  • Coordinates changes to the catalog and prepare/update advising materials related to the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences
  • Assist with degree program petitions and processing of Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences student applications
  • Visit with current and prospective students about Robbins College curriculum options.
  • Attend premiers and speak to prospective students and their families about programs within Robbins College
  • Participate in the development and accomplishments of objectives and actions connected with the University vision. Services on Robbins College and University committees as appropriate. Seek continual professional development
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree and an active Christian faith is required.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's Degree and three years of relevant work experience is preferred.
