Position Description

About the Institute of Agricultural Technology: The Michigan State University Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) empowers students to succeed in the diverse industries that make up the agricultural and environmental sector, from farming to food processing to forestry. Duties

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the IAT Director, the Academic Affairs and Recruitment Coordinator will collaborate with program coordinators to enhance student experiences and achieve strategic goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising and Student Support (50%): Provide guidance on degree requirements, leveraging MSU's student information systems. Facilitate professional development opportunities for coordinators and engage in university-level meetings to support student success initiatives

• Curriculum Development (30%): Oversee curriculum updates, accreditation processes, and enrollment management. Analyze data to inform program enhancements and resource allocation decisions.

• Recruitment and Outreach (20%): Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans in collaboration with community colleges. Integrate marketing efforts to enhance brand visibility and broaden access to IAT programs.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in agriculture, natural resources, higher education, curriculum development, student affairs, or a related field.

• Three years of professional experience in higher education, with a focus on program management and stakeholder coordination.

• Strong commitment to innovation, collaboration, and student-centered practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of experience in recruitment, admissions, student affairs, or advising within higher education.

• Proficiency in data analytics and experience with curriculum development and accreditation processes.

• Demonstrated ability to build and nurture relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
