Position Description
Wilson College, a private college rooted in the liberal arts and sciences and committed to student-centered education in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its inaugural dean of student success. This is an onsite leadership role. The dean of student success will join the college at an exceptionally exciting moment in its history—Wilson has reached its highest total enrollment ever with 1,705 enrolled students in fall 2024, a ten percent increase over fall 2023 and a 25 percent increase in two years.
Duties
Reporting to the provost and vice president for academic affairs and serving on the president’s senior leadership team, the dean of student success (dean) will collaborate with faculty and staff across the college to create systems that support holistic development, address student academic and personal challenges, and ensure that students feel engaged and valued. The dean will be pivotal in fostering a supportive environment to enhance student retention and persistence.

Required Qualifications
A master’s degree and a record of proven success in leading retention and persistence programs, with a particular focus on first-generation and diverse student populations in higher education, are required. The search committee is particularly interested in candidates with a strong understanding of data-driven approaches to advancing student success and experience in utilizing student information systems and analytics platforms; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with demonstrated experience in supporting a diverse student body; and a track record of building collaborative partnerships across the campus community.
