Position Description
This position serves the College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. The College of Arts and Sciences is student-centered and values the significance of academic advising in student success. Academic advisors guide students through their academic career and serve as a referral agent for students’ other needs, providing holistic guidance to students as they progress through their college career. This position will advise undergraduate students in Computer Science and Applied Computer Programming, including both online and in-person degree options.
Duties
Major responsibilities include:
- Assist students in exploration of degree program and course selection, including how life and career goals align with degrees.
- Consult with department head(s) regarding course scheduling needs or issues for students.
- Stay informed of departmental faculty interests and expertise to facilitate mentoring and research opportunities for students.
- Coordinate special projects, including dual-degree programs and partnerships, such as Computer Science with Psychology, and Computer Science with Engineering.

Additional Information
Hiring Range: 47,000.00 - 55,000.00, Salary
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Recruiting programs, student development programs, commencements, recognition ceremonies, etc. may occasionally occur outside the normal working day. Some travel for such programs may be required. Physical requirements include the transportation of program materials to program locations and involves lifting and ambulating.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree and three (3) years of experience in a comparable position. Five years of experience directly comparable to academic advising required for Senior Academic Advisor II. Prior coordination of special projects required for Senior Academic Advisor II. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Proficiencies: Microsoft applications, Outlook applications, and ability to learn enrollment applications
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a field of Arts & Sciences
