Position Description

Serve as the Advising Coordinator in the Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities. This position includes serving as the College retention specialist an as the supervisor for 3 other Lindquist College of Arts. These roles include hiring, training and overseeing the other advisors and using processes such as Starfish to contact students in jeopardy of failing or leaving the institution. This position will also analyze enrollment data to provide assistance to the dean, department chairs, program directors, faculty and staff in regards to curriculum, academic policy, advising, graduation maps, and enrollment trends.

Required:

• Master’s degree (preferably in an area related to academic advisement or a discipline taught in the academic unit)

• Three years of college employment experience working with students

• One year of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Excellent skills in record keeping and analysis of data

• Demonstrated ability to work with computer-related applications such as Excel or Google Sheets.

• Ability and willingness to become a skilled user of Banner upon which the University advisement community relies.
