Welcome to AACSS

We are pleased you are considering AACSS services to assist your institution in reviewing or enhancing your academic advising practices.  AACSS offers face-to-face and virtual program reviews and speakers year-round.

Request a Consultant or Speaker

The request process from start to finish:

  1. Identify the advising areas(s) of need or interest for the advising unit, institution, or system. Because it may sometimes be difficult to pinpoint specific advising needs, the NACADA Executive Office (EO) assists with your needs identification through the request form.
  2. Click the appropriate link to the right to request a consultant, keynote speaker, workshop coordinator, or other facilitator.
  3. Email the form to [email protected] (Note: this step should be automatic after the online form is complete).
  4. The AACSS Program Manager will then email your designated point person resumes of several qualified consultants/speakers based on your institutional type, your specific needs, and objectives.
  5. Notify the AACSS Program Manager of your selection(s).
  6. The Executive Office will confirm the availability of the consultant(s) or speaker for the time requested. Once confirmed, the ACCSS Program Manager will complete and email the NACADA Agreement Form which outlines the visit charges and estimate of travel costs, if needed, to which the institution is agreeing.
  7. Upon return of the Agreement Form from the institution, the form is forwarded to the consultant/speaker for their signature. Copies of the completed, signed Agreement Form will be distributed to the institution and the consultant/speaker.
  8. The institution and consultant/speaker will begin communications, if not already in progress, regarding details and expectations for the upcoming visit. The institution will prepare materials in advance for the consultant/speaker and forward it to him/her. The consultant/speaker will book any necessary travel arrangements if the visit is onsite.
  9. Following the visit, the AACSS Program Manager will invoice the institution for the honorarium, travel expenses (for on-site visits), and the NACADA fee.  NACADA is solely responsible for issuing the honorarium and any travel reimbursements to consultants and speakers.
  10. Finally, the institutional contact person will receive an electronic post-event evaluation survey that will help NACADA continue to provide quality speaking and consulting services to higher education.
  • Please note that our consultants and speakers are senior college and university administrators with full schedules.  Please begin your booking process at least 2 months in advance of the planned campus or virtual event.
