Committees and Advisory Boards

Committees: Committees are established by the Board of Directors. Committee Chairs are elected by current members of the Committee and may be chosen from among current as well as past members of that Committee.

  • Committee Chairs serve two-year terms. Committee Chairs must have served a full term as a Committee member (of the particular Committee).
  • Committee members are appointed by the Committee Chairs with approval of the Division Representative.
  • Each year, some Committee members rotate off Committees to allow for new members while assuring continuity in operations.

Advisory Boards: Advisory Boards are created by the NACADA President. Advisory Board Chairs are appointed to their positions and terms by the President.

  • Advisory Board Chairs serve two-year terms and may be reappointed.
  • Members of Advisory Boards are appointed by the NACADA President.
  • Each year, some Advisory Board members rotate off an AB to allow for new members while assuring continuity in operations.

Administrators Institute Advisory Board

The Advisory Board will advise the Executive Office on strategies and activities specifically related to the Administrators’ Institute

Annual Conference Advisory Board

Advisory Board oversees the curriculum and activities of the Annual Conference.

Assessment Institute Advisory Board

The Advisory Board will advise the Executive Office on strategies and activities related to the Assessment Institute.

DEI Education Advisory Board

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Education Advisory Board seeks to ensure that NACADA members, particularly those serving in formal leadership roles, can contribute to the association’s Commitment to DEI.

ELP Advisory Board

The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) exists to encourage members from diverse groups to get involved in leadership opportunities within the organization.

Institute for Academic Advising Advisory Board

The Advisory Board will advise the Executive Office on strategies and activities specifically related to the Institute for Academic Advising.

NACADA Consulting Advisory Board

The NACADA Consulting Advisory Board coordinates the work of the NACADA Consulting Services.

Online Education Advisory Board

The Online Education Advisory Board assists the Executive Office with the development and coordination of online education programs.

Publications Advisory Board

The Publications Advisory Board (PAB) oversees the recommendation of topics to offer NACADA members a wide variety of high quality print-based materials.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee oversees financial operations of the Association, makes funding recommendations to the Board of Directors, and recommends policies and procedures regarding income and expenditures.

Global Awards Committee

The Global Awards Committee coordinates the distribution of information, solicitation of nominations, selection of recipients, and the awards presentations of all Global Awards.

Global Initiatives Committee

The Committee on Global Initiatives assists with the recruitment, retention and support of international academic advising professionals.

Inclusion & Engagement Committee

The NACADA Inclusion and Engagement Committee (IEC) implements strategies and initiatives to encourage increased diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice within the association.

Membership Recruitment & Retention Committee

The Membership Recruitment & Retention Committee will build and retain membership, recommend through recruitment activities and effective policies, procedures, and strategies.

Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development Committee identifies the professional development needs of members and the Association.

Research Committee

The NACADA Research Committee promotes the advancement of scholarly inquiry within the association.

Sustainable NACADA Leadership Committee

The Committee on Sustainable NACADA Leadership is charged with identifying, developing, and sustaining NACADA leadership to ensure the future of the association and develop members' leadership potential.
