For NACADA, this has definitely been a busy and exciting time... Many exciting ventures are in the works, and I look forward to sharing the outcomes of those efforts in future publications and at the Annual Conference in Denver this October.
March is the midway point of my year as President of NACADA and as with all checkpoints it's a good time to take stock of projects, tasks, and the inevitable to-do lists that are part of any meaningful endeavor.

As I look toward to the end of my time as president, I am thankful for all the opportunities I have had this year. I am very proud to serve as your president, and I look forward to our continued work in improving our institutions and elevating academic advising in the name of student success.
This past year has been one of the most amazing years in my life, both professionally and personally… Now that my term is almost up, I can truly say that it exceeded all my expectations.
At the NACADA Annual Conference in St. Louis this past October, the Board of Directors asked members to participate in a series of discussions on various topics during our Town Hall event. Over the next year, we as a board will be utilizing this information to inform our work. We are also working on plans to share the information, answer questions, and address concerns.
The NACADA Board of Directors has made it a priority to facilitate avenues for our members to provide feedback and input on the work of the Association.
The greatest strength of this association is not in its knowledge, its professional development, or its advocacy for student success, but in its membership. How well that strength is utilized depends on us all.
When I speak to those outside the organization about my NACADA family, I often get questions about how we became so close: what is it about these people I see only a few times a year that makes me identify them as some of my closest friends, my colleagues, my confidants for more than just advising related questions?
