Advising Communities

NACADA Advising Communities provide members the opportunity to engage with other professionals in areas such as similar institution types, academic areas, interests, or student populations.  All current members can join up to 4 Advising Communities.  All Communities are involved in:

  • Advancing NACADA’s strategic goals
  • Proposing and facilitating professional development activities around Community topics to engage members
  • Providing resources to advance the professional development of members while focusing on the specific area of the Community

Join us for an insightful panel discussion on Bringing it Full Circle: Being an Advisor with a Disability and How to Manage it All. Our diverse panel of experienced advisors will share their personal journeys, challenges, and strategies for balancing their professional roles with navigating the unique aspects of living with a disability. Gain valuable insights on fostering inclusivity, overcoming barriers, and developing a supportive environment for both advisors and clients.

Social Justice - Undocu Students Chat

 We will provide a safe space to reflect on our social justice work in advising and find support among peers. We will start the new year focusing on serving our undocumented students. The goal of UNDOCU Advising chats is to share best practices and resources that help create an “undocufriendly” campus climate and solution-based approaches for the unique circumstances that affect undocumented student experiences. If you are currently leading or interested in being involved in supporting undocumented and DACAmented students on your campus, come share your work and ask questions in this open discussion.
