Position Description
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is searching for a Coordinator, Recruitment & Admissions and an Assistant Director, Recruitment & Admissions that will assist primarily in college recruitment and admissions activities, including conducting application reviews for units within the Student Academic Affairs Office (SAAO). This position will support recruitment and yield efforts by coordinating on and off-campus events for prospective and admitted first-year and transfer students, including internal transfers.
Duties
Coordinator, Recruitment & Admissions Assist in the planning and coordination of new and established recruitment and yield efforts for prospective and admitted students. Serve as information and communication liaison for SAAO staff, LAS staff and advisors, and other college and campus partners participating in recruitment and yield efforts. Coordinate the planning and management of communication, staffing, schedule, space, and materials for events. Review new first-year, transfer, non-degree, and other applications and collaborate in rendering of decisions. Engage with external partners and prospective students through presentations at recruitment and yield events on campus, off-campus, and online. Assist LAS recruitment and admission leadership, SAAO programs, and LAS units on special projects and assignments. Participate in recruiting and advising students in new online programs. Participate in walk-in advising duty rotation for LAS SAAO and related student advising and administration, activities, including end of term grade audit/academic progress monitoring, assistance in LAS probation program, policy and process reviews. Assistant Director, Recruitment & Admissions Administer college-based recruitment scholarships offered at the time of admission, monitor eligibility requirements for multi-year recruitment scholarships, and work with the Director to gather data and communicate on an annual basis with recipients regarding ongoing scholarship eligibility. Collaborate with the LAS SAAO leadership and the LAS advancement to maintain centralized record-keeping and reporting on college-based scholarships, including recruitment, merit, financial-need, UG research, and study abroad scholarships. Serve as liaison to other offices in the LAS and Campus regarding donor scholarships and their administration. Engage with external partners and prospective students through presentations at recruitment and yield events on campus, off-campus, and online. Assist the LAS recruitment and admission leadership, SAAO programs, and LAS units on special projects and assignments. Review new first-year, transfer, non-degree, and other applications and collaborate in rendering of decisions. Coordinate new student orientation-registration activities and assessment, including assisting in advisor training and coordination of information and communications. Participate in walk-in advising duty rotation for the LAS SAAO and related student advising and administration, activities, including end of term grade audit/academic progress monitoring, assistance in LAS probation program, policy and process reviews.

Additional Information
These are 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator positions, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date. The budgeted salary range for the Coordinator position is $50,000 - $60,000. The budgeted salary rang for the Assistant Director position is $60,000 - $70,000. Actual starting salary will be determined by the candidate’s credentials and alignment with the position requirements. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (remote work and in-person work in Champaign-Urbana each week). Sponsorship for work authorization is no available for this position. Required Qualifications
Coordinator, Recruitment & Admissions:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two (2) years of education, training, and/or work experience in student undergraduate recruitment and/or admissions. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
Assistant Director, Recruitment & Admissions
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three (3) years education, training, and/or work experience in admissions, records, and/or registration in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated experience in admissions and/or academic advising.
Preferred Qualifications
Coordinator, Recruitment & Admissions
- A total of three (3) years professional experience in undergraduate admissions, recruitment and/or advising coordinating application review, outreach, or academic advising/student counseling.
- Experience understanding higher ed and/or student academic affairs.

- Master’s Degree or graduate studies in relevant student affairs field.
- Experience in undergraduate admissions, including outreach and application review.
- Demonstrated effective public presentation experience, specifically to prospective and current students and parents.
- Record of successful scholarship program development, administration, and evaluation.
- Experience in academic advising/student counseling.
- One (1) year experience engaging with internal and external partners in relevant student affairs area.
