Duties

Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Academic Programs will work to provide ongoing support to first-year and new transfer students through programming sponsored by the Office of Academic and Advising Services. Duties include assisting with advising, registration, retention, and intervention initiatives for undergraduate Mercer students, primarily on the Macon campus, and advising responsibilities to include teaching first-year experience courses. Work with New Student Orientation programs is also required.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Qualifications: A master's degree in or related to higher education administration, college student personnel, student development, or a related field and one year of prior related higher education experience, which may include experience gained during a graduate degree program are required. Candidates with recent academic advising and/or coaching experience in a higher education setting with work in first-year experience theory/classes/offices and/or a knowledge of Mercer University are highly desirable. Candidates should have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position may require some travel.
