Position Description

The Coordinator works collaboratively with the Coordinator for Career Advising, the Executive Director of Workforce Development and faculty on career focused programs and initiatives. Some of the responsibilities include maintaining connections with local employers, professional and state organizations to remain current with workplace opportunities and promote educational opportunities at SUNY Orange. The Coordinator will oversee the job placement software and procedures based upon best practices in the field. The Coordinator facilitates career planning workshops and helps organize special career-focused events throughout the year. Evening and weekend work at both campuses and other sites as needed.

Salary: $44,100-58,435 per annum; commensurate with experience. This is a Staff & Chair, Grade 30, 12 month position.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree or higher

Experience Required: Two years of vocational counseling, job/internship and/or career support in the education sector.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

• Two years' experience in vocational counseling, job/internship placement and/or career support in the education sector.

• Knowledgeable about the local and regional labor market.

• Familiar with career-related software

• Certified as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator facilitator

• Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees and the public.

• Ability to manage multiple projects.

• Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.

• Bilingual Skills.
